마이크로 소프트 창업자 빌게이츠가 코로나 19는 내년 백신이 보급된 뒤 기세가 꺽이고 2022년에야 종식될것으로 전망했습니다.
그러면서 글로벌 협업만이 코로나19확산을 막을 유일한 해법이라고 강조했습니다.
빌게잍츠는 코로나19와 전쟁은 내후년인 2022년 마무리 될 수있을것으로 내다봤습니다.
내년 여름 백신이 본격 보급된다는 전제하에 그렇다는 것입니다.
영국 텔레그레프와 의 인터뷰에서 밝힌 내용으로 2021년 즉 내년에 코로나19가 종식될것이라고 한 지난 8
월 전망을 2년 뒤로 늦춘 것인데 , 그만큼 상황을 심각하게 보고 있다는 뜻으로 풀이됩니다.
빌게이츠는 아울러 적절히 대응하지 못할 경우 올가을 이후 다시 사망자가 크게 늘 수 있다는 경고도 잊지 않았습니다.
그러면서 내년 여름 백신이 공급돼 60%수준의 접종이 이뤄진다면,코로나19의 기하급수적인 확산을 거의 막을 수 있다고 전망했습니다.
재선에 혈안이 된 트럼프 미국 대통령 압박에 선거전 백신이 졸속 승인될 가능성에 대해서는 선을 그었습니다.
CNBC 인터뷰에선 미국에서 10월말 까지 사용승인을 신청하는 백신은 없을것 같다면서,만약 효험이 있다면
12월이나 내년 1월 두세 개 정도의 백신이 승인을 신청할 가능성은 있다고 내다 봤습니다.
빌게이츠는 그러면서 글로벌 협업의 중요성을 강조했습니다.
글로벌 위기 상황에서 어느 한 국가가 해법을 내놓을 수 는 없으며 ,모든 나라가 힘을 모아 코로나19 대유행을 끝내고 경제를 다시 살려야 한다고 호소했습니다.
미국과 영국의 코로나 19 대응 실패원인과 관련해선 ,사스와 메르스 사태때 경험을 통해 검사역량 구축과 신속한 개입에 나선 한국과 타이완처럼 잘 대응하지 못했다고 지적했습니다.
