미국 허리케인에 이어 역대급 지진으로, 인도네시아는 물난리에 이은 화산 폭발로 몸살을 앓고 있습니다.
9일 미국 노스캐롤라이니주에 104년만에 강한 지진이 발생했다고 보고했습니다.

 

 

 

 

미국지질조사국(USGS)에 따르면 세계 표준시(UTC) 기준 9일 오후 12시 07분 (미국 동부시간 9일 아침 8시07분) 노스캐롤라이나주 스파르타시 남동쪽 4km지점에서 규모 5.1 강진이 발생했습니다.
진동은 버지니아와 사우스캐롤라이나 ,테네시 등 인근 주에서도 감지 됐습니다.

지질 조사국은 본진 발생 25시간 전부터 규모 2.1~2.6 사이 예진이 최소 4차례 일어났으며 ,앞으로 일주일에 걸쳐 여진도 여러 차례 발생할 것이라고 경고했습니다.
규모 3이상의 지진이 일어날 확률도 45%입니다.

 

 

지진여파로 주택가와 상가가 흔들리면서 건물에 균열이 생겼고 ,도로가 갈라졌으나 아직 정확한 피해 규모는 집계되지 않습니다.

 

노스 캐롤라이나에서 강진이 발생한 건 104년 만에 처음입니다.
미 지질 조사국은 1916년 당시 그레이트스모키산맥에 일어난 규모 5.2 강진이 노스캘롤라이나에서 기록된 마지막 강진이라고 밝혔습니다.

 

 

21세기 첫강진에 주민들은 가슴을 쓸어내렸습니다. 스파르타 주민 마이클헐은 차도에 있는데 갑자기 사슴떼가 우르르 달려갔습니다.
사슴이 지나가자마자 땅이 흔들렸습니다. 지진이었다. 헐은 믿을 수 가 없었습니다.

 

 

신이 산을 잡아 흔드는 것 같았다고 말했습니다.

지진여파로 주택가와 상가가 흔들이면서 건물에 균열이 생겼고 도로가 갈라졌으나 아직 정확한 피해 규모는 집계되지 않았습니다.

 

 

 

 

 

그러나 일주일전 허리케인 피해도 아직 복구가 안 된 마당에 지진까지 겹치자 주민들은 망연장실한 모습입니다.

또 다른 주민 캐런 베커는 허리케인이 지나가자마자 지진이라니 너무한 것 같다며 푸념했습니다.
스파르타가 속한 앨리게니 카운티는 9일 오후 비상사태 선포했습니다.

 

 

 

물난리로 고초를 겪은 인도네시아는 화산이 말썽입니다.

 

현재매체 템포는 북수마트하주 시나붕 화산에서 화산재 기둥이 치솟였다고 보도했습니다.
산 정상에서 2000m지점 해발 4460 m 성공까지 화산재가 솟구티면서 카로 지구 4개 마을이 영향권에 들었습니다.

수 세기 동안 숨죽이고 있던 시나붕 화산은 2010년 410년만에 분화했습니다.

 

당시 34개 마을 주민 3만명이 대피하는 소동이 벌어졌습니다.
이후 2013년 ~2017년까지 화산 활동이 계속됐으며 2014년2016년 각각 16명 7명이 사망했습니다.

 

 

이번 분화에 대해 인도네시아 화산지질재난예방센터(PVMBG)시나붕관측소는 주민들에게 마스크나 개인 보호장비를 착용하고 권고하는 한편,화산경보단계 3단계 발령했다.
가장 높은 단계는 4단계다.

 

이에 따라 화산 정상에서 반경 3km 남동구역 5km 북동구역 4km 이내 접근이 금지했습니다.

인도네시아는 우기가 예상보다 더 길어지면서 수마트라섬과 자카르타 수도권 ,브로네오섬등이 물난리를 겪었습니다.
올해 초부터 계속된 홍수 여파로 최소 150명이 사망했고 200만명 넘는 이재민이 발생했습니다.

Indonesia has been plagued by volcanic eruptions following a U.S. hurricane.
North Carolina reported Monday a strong earthquake in 104 years.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), a 5.1-magnitude earthquake occurred at 12:07 p.m. on the 9th (UTC) at 8:07 a.m. (8:07 a.m. Eastern Time) in Sparta, North Carolina.
Vibration was also detected in Virginia, South Carolina and Tennessee.


The Geological Survey warned that there were at least four pre-visions between 2.1 and 2.6 hours before the main earthquake, and that aftershocks would occur several times over the next week.
There is a 45% chance that an earthquake of magnitude 3 or higher will occur.

The earthquake shook residential and shopping districts, causing cracks in buildings, and the roads were cracked, but the exact extent of the damage has yet to be counted.

It's the first earthquake in 104 years in North Carolina.

 

The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude 5.2 earthquake in the Great Smoky Mountains in 1916 was the last one recorded in North Carolina.

In the first earthquake of the 21st century, residents swept their hearts. Sparta resident Michael Hull was on the road and suddenly a herd of deer ran.
The ground shook as soon as the deer passed by. It was an earthquake. Hull couldn't believe it.
He said it was like God was grabbing and shaking the mountain.

 

 

The quake shook residential and shopping districts, causing cracks in buildings and splitting roads, but the exact extent of the damage has yet to be counted.
